Departing War’s Despair - The Story Begins

Marcia Grave Cross.jpg

Disillusionment and trauma have led injured resistance fighter, Carmine Migliore to leave war-torn Italy with his family and seek a new and better life across the ocean in distant Argentina among fellow Italian immigrants. His beloved daugther, Julietta, carrying her first camera, narrates the family’s journey to their strange new home.

Gradually the family becomes aware of a network of hypocrisy and deception within their own beloved Catholic Church, a network that includes wealthy European industrialists and governments, all working together to aid elite Nazis to escape justice. By fleeing to Argentina, the despicable perpetrators of the holocaust hope to re-establish the Third Reich, this time in a brave new world, a world the Migliores now call home.

The author’s extensive research, woven throughout this timely story of deception and courage, illustrates the insidious nature of tyranny, and asks contemporary readers to contemplate the ease with which one’s liberties can be stolen when a nation’s citizens are not vigilant in seeking truth and demanding justice.

The Third World War will break out. Capitalist democracies against Bolshevist capitalism. Only our victory would have brought the world peace with justice. I was accused of tyranny, which I imposed on the Italians. How they will mourn it...Then they will say without flattery or falsehood: Mussolini was right!”
— Benito Mussolini
